🛡️ Proposal: Dynamic Magic Shield (ML Scaling)
Currently, many players feel that the Magic Shield is "poorly designed" because it does not scale organically with character progression. This new mechanic proposes that damage conversion efficiency should not be a fixed value, but rather a dynamic curve based on Magic Level (ML).
-------- The Coefficient Reduction Concept: --------
Instead of simply increasing the shield's raw capacity, the Magic Level would now reduce the damage multiplier taken to the mana pool.
- Starting Point: A character with low ML takes 2.0x damage to mana (e.g., 100 real damage = 200 mana lost).
- Progression: As ML increases, this multiplier drops proportionally (1.9x, 1.8x, 1.7x \ down to a limit of 1.0x).
-------- Progression Table (Theoretical Example) --------
Magic Level Damage Multiplier Barrier Efficiency
0 - 50 2.0 Low
51 - 80 1.7 Moderate
81 - 100 1.4 High
101+ 1.0 Master
-------- Why is this balanced? --------
- Opportunity Cost: As noted by the player, to reach an extremely high Magic Level, players often sacrifice points that would otherwise go into Max Mana (via attributes or specific gear).
- Sense of Progression: High-level mages (like EDs) will feel their training directly impacts their survivability, not just their offensive output.
- High-End Viability: It prevents mages from being "one-shot" in late-game content, provided they have heavily invested in their magical specialization.
